The Road to Side

Right after leaving the airport you join the eastbound Antalya–Mersin highway (D400); the drive does not go through central Antalya. After Serik, and before reaching Manavgat, the car turns off towards the coast and Side. Most of the route is intercity highway, so traffic usually flows well; in July and August it can slow down around hotel check-in and check-out times.

Side is a coastal town that belongs to the Manavgat district. The old town sits on a small peninsula reaching into the sea; the columns of the Temple of Apollo on the shore and the Roman theatre are its best-known sights.
